Overview

This paper investigates the factors contributing to wildfires and their associated burn acreage, utilizing data from UC Irvine’s Machine Learning Repository on forest fires in the northeast region of Portugal. The paper is structured as follows: Section l is the introduction, Section II provides a description of the datasets, Section III outlines the preprocessing steps, Section IV presents an exploratory data analysis with preliminary results, and Section V includes a regression analysis and the creation of a predictive model.
